The Square Foot Gardening Foundation is a Non-profit 501(c)(3) Entity whose purpose is to end World Hunger by reaching out to Families and teaching them how to grow healthy food for their daily meals, thus improving their diets and getting the family interactive with each other. The Foundation teaches the original method of Square Foot Gardening created by our Founder, Mel Bartholomew, which uses less resources and requires very little work, yet produces a crop equal to a single row garden 5x its size.We also teach educational classes and support local community gardens and NGO projects overseas through our network of certified teachers. We teach classes in schools, donate gardens to many organizations and help promote healthy lifestyles.

Mel Bartholomew

Founder and Originator

Mel is the creator of the Square Foot Gardening System. He is a retired engineer who saw the joys that come with gardening but saw the problems that also came with it. He spent years developing a system that would allow the average person to have the benefit of gardening without the typical headaches. He is an accomplished speaker and has written the best-selling gardening book of all time "All New Square Foot Gardening". He would love to come share his knowledge and expertise with the world.

Victoria Boudman

CEO

Victoria is a passionate woman who truly believes in the dream the Foundation has of ending world hunger and helping to improve the world we live in. She sees a need and fills it! Aside from running the foundation, she handles the day to day operations of it, including:*Human Resources*Accounting*Keeping the lights on!She has a Bachelors of Science in Business Management and a 6 Sigma black belt. Victoria has been trained personally by Mel in all aspects of the Foundation. She is a Certified Square Foot Gardening Teacher and is always excited to share what she knows with anyone who asks.

Humanitarian Liaison

Alan is currently working with other organizations such as ours, to promote Square Foot Gardening and Square Meter Gardening. He is traveling to other countries to meet with Government officials in order to help them understand and implement this method.We have been successful so far, in Ecuador and Peru, placing SFG's with over 500 families to date.

Tracy Mastergeorge

Office Manager

Tracy is in charge of every order taken here at the Foundation. She handles each order personally and her goal is a 24 hours turn around! If you ever need someone on your side - Tracy is the person you want there. She understands how important you are to the success and growth of the Foundation and why we are here. Website Maintenance and Updates

To help both Alan and Victoria have more time to deal with the larger issues of The Foundation, Cheri has graciously offered her time to help with the upkeep of our website, and our on-line catalog. She is responsible for the wonderful new look of our website. If you want to add something to our website, or see an issue that needs to be fixed, she is our go-to person. We are very grateful for her continual help.

Belinda Jensen

Teacher Coordinator

Belinda started as a certified teacher, so she has been there and done that. She quickly grew as she started a successful SFG business, becoming an example of the success you can have with this concept. She now coordinates our teachers and helps them become successful, too. She creates a monthly newsletter and is now going to Symposiums with us and sharing her extensive knowledge of SFG, as well as business, with others. She currently teaches classes at Thanksgiving Point Institute and throughout the city. She is a vibrant teacher who is passionate about this concept!

Manufacturing, assembly and shipping

These are the workhorses of the foundation. Ken Olsen and the wonderful crew he works with here at the Foundation is how all our bills are paid. They package, set up and process all orders that come through the foundation.
